Update on power interruption @ Impian 5 on 19th May

Several members reported that the power interruption on 19th May 2009 had damaged some of their electrical items...

 

Today, another member has reported that TNB has advised those affected to make a police report and submit the damage/ repair claims to them. Ger more details in SARA forum(registration is free). 

Carjacking in front of CIMB

A Honda Accord was carjacked over the weekend just outside CIMB. The owner was forced to hand over the car as well as cash and wallet to the parang wielding robbers.

 

So to all Setia Alam residents, please be extra careful. You can read all about it in the forum (it was posted by the Honda owner's son who is also a forum member).

Pasar malam is coming to town... And more activity updates

Very soon, Setia Alam will have its own pasar malam. So far, the plan is to have the pasar malam every Saturday night beginning sometime in April 2009. If you are interested to become a penjaja, do contact the Majlis Perwakilan Penduduk (MPP) Zon 21 AJKs. Details of the MPP Zon 21 AJKs can be found here. It is very likely that the pasar malam will be held at Eramas commercial area next to CIMB Bank. 

 

Have something to suggest or comment about this pasar malam? Discuss it at our SARA forum (you need to be a member to post -- membership is FREE and open to everyone).  

 

Besides that, MPP Zon 21 is also planning to organise a mini marathon sometime in April 2009. However, they would like to know what kind of response they can expect from the residents... Would you and your family join the 8-10km race around Setia Alam? Vote and share your thoughts in SARA forum.

Christmas Gathering at Dewan Seraya

MPP Zon 21 is organising a Chirstmas Gathering on the 24th December 2008. It will be held at Dewan Seraya in Impian 4. The gathering starts at 2000hrs (8pm). Light refreshments will be served. Do drop by.

Guard houses in Precinct 8 (Setia Impian)

Bandar Setia Alam (BSA) recently sent out a letter to inform residents that a representative from BSA will be going around collecting signatures and support to maintain the guardhouses to each area. As explained in the letter, Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) has the right to remove the guardhouses and BSA is taking the initiative to write an 'appeal' letter to MBSA. As crime is on the increase, we do hope every resident will not hesitate to sign the letter. Also, feel free to discuss this 'issue' in our forum.

Water maintenance at Impian 2-5

We have been informed by forum member, jeffyan, that there will be a water maintenance work on the 25th Movember 2008 (Tuesday) from 10am to 5pm. As such, yhere will be water interruptions to houses in Impian 2 (Jalan U13/2), Impian 3 (Jalan U13/3), Impian 4 (Jalan U13/4) and Impian 5 (Jalan U13/5).

 

You are advised to turn off the main water valve during this time to prevent dirt from getting into your water tank. 

RM21.80 electricity bill

Recently, there were some reports from Yushania and Bashania (Phase 2) owners that they received a bill of rm21.80 from Tenaga. One of our members, whitearmani, recently called Tenaga for clarifications. It seems there is an error and the new bill dated November 2008 will reflect the correct amount. Balai Polis now operational

The new Balai Polis is now operational. In case you didn't know, it is located at the Eramas Commercial Centre.

Besides the police station, lots of banks, restaurants, hardware shops, etc have opened up at Eramas. Check out our forum for a comprehensive and up-to-date listing of shops in Eramas. 

Besides that, we are happy to inform you that work on the Setia Alam club house has finally started! Where is this clubhouse? You guessed it -- Eramas Commercial Centre

Chinese New Year Bazaar

There is a CNY Bazaar planned at the Eramas Commercial Centre (near CIMB Bank). The bazaar will start on the 18th January and end on 3rd February. It will be held daily starting from 1800hrs (6pm) to 2200hrs (10pm). 

We can expect CNY related goodies to be on sale at the bazaar. For more details, check out the forum.

Booths are still available for rent at only rm200 for 17 days!
