About SARA

SARA started in 2006 when a group of potential Setia Alam property buyers met in an online property forum and thought it would be great to have a forum dedicated to the new township. Within weeks, SARA was born and shortly after, SARA forum was created. SARA is short for Setia Alam Residents' Association but it has not been officially registered as an association yet.

The main purpose of SARA is to have a common ground where residents and owners can meet up to discuss issues close to heart -- Setia Alam. We hope that SARA can revive the kampung spirit where neighbours know one another and is happy to lend a helping hand at any time. We understand that many work for long hours and as such, physically meeting up may not be feasible. SARA, as an online community, overcomes this 'time' issue as SARA is available 24-hours-7-days-a-week (unless when there is a server problem).

Membership to SARA forum is FREE. You only need is to spend a little time to register and even more time reading, replying and making new friends as well as meeting new neighbours online. We only ask that everyone be responsible when replying in the forum. Besides the forum, we have many other plans for SARA. Just like the township Setia Alam, SARA is also still growing and we expect to have even more features and sections... So do drop by regularly.

In 2008, we came up with a logo for SARA. The SARA logo (pictured above) is designed by forum member minimalien (Andy Gan) and had the highest number of votes in a poll conducted in the forum. Green was choosen as the main colour to reflect Setia Alam's ECO and GREENERY concepts. The dragonfly (inside the butterfly) + butterfly design represents the residents from Setia Alam and Setia Eco Park working together. In many of the developer's Setia Alam-related materials, a dragonfly is present whereas the butterfly is present in many Setia Eco Park-related materials. The four colours in the butterfly/ dragonfly denotes a community made up of different groups of people, from the young to the old. The outline of the house in the logo associates SARA with Setia Alam and Setia Eco Park home owners and residents.
